OUR
GREEN
INITIATIVE
Design To Print calls Southern Utah and Nevada it’s home. The stunning red rock formations, deep canyons, and expansive deserts constantly reminds us of the beauty and fragility of the natural world. As a result, we are actively conscious of the environment and take every effort to reduce our carbon footprint. We believe in protecting the environment through a cleaner printing process with the ultimate goal of sustainability!
Sustainability is the standard that shapes how we produce, innovate, and deliver quality — every day. Keep reading below to learn more about our current efforts.
Printing That Protects Tomorrow
Behind every project is a system designed to reduce waste, lower energy use, and deliver better-performing graphics — without increasing cost for our customers. Most shops treat sustainability as an upgrade. At Design To Print, it’s foundational.
This is why the choices behind the scenes matter because they directly shape the results you see on-site.
Solar-Powered Production
Our Utah facility is powered by up to 85% solar energy.
CORE PRACTICES
Recycled Materials
Materials engineered to move through circular systems — not landfills.
VOC-Free Printing
Green Guard certified inks for cleaner air and safer production for teams.
Materials That Stay in Motion
Recycled Grey-Back Fabric
The Multi-Dimensional Knit (MDK) Recycled Grey-Back (RGB) Fabric is a polyester-based knit, completely free from rubber or PVC. It features a grey weave on the back side, enhancing opacity. Termed as 'Landfill Divergent,' this fabric is made from water bottles that have never reached a landfill, enhancing its recyclability making it a true sustainable solution to perform beautifully under show lighting.
Post-consumer recycled content
Rich, colorful graphics
Premium print quality
Every material choice is a lifecycle decision. We select substrates designed for multiple uses, efficient recycling, and minimal environmental burden.
EnviroBEAD™ Silicone-Free SEG Beading
Traditional SEG systems rely on silicone beading—a material that complicates recycling. Our EcoBead alternative eliminates silicone entirely, making end-of-life processing cleaner and more efficient without sacrificing tension or durability. Recycled plastic beading is sewn to the MDK Grey-Back material allowing it to fit in aluminum framing systems such as BeMatrix™ or Aluvision™. The beading is 100% recyclable after use.
100% silicone-free
Fully recyclable
Enhances installation accuracy
Closing the Loop: A Real End-of-Life Solution
Most SEG graphics end up discarded. Our palletizing return program gives companies a trackable way to prove sustainable choices and meet internal ESG goals.
Program Impact
10,000+ lbs of materials diverted from landfills annually
-
Once fabrics complete their run, simply stack them and wrap the pallet on-site. We can provide guidance on how to prepare graphics so they’re ready for return without extra sorting or material handling on your end.
-
Send your pallet to our Utah facility using your standard carrier or freight provider. Centralizing materials allows us to process large volumes at once — making recycling and downcycling viable at scale.
-
Once received, materials are compacted, sorted, and prepared to re-enter appropriate recycling or downcycling streams — giving them continued life rather than sending them straight to landfill.
-
After processing, we provide documentation confirming volume diverted and environmental impact. This gives your team real data to report internally for ESG goals, sustainability metrics, and client reporting.
Hardware Built To Last
Our SEG frames are made from recycled aluminum — one of the most recyclable materials available.
50% lighter shipping weight than steel
Straighter, stronger frame profiles
Designed for repeated use across shows
No Scraps Left Behind
Grand-format printing and metal fabrication naturally generates scrap. That’s reality. But we’ve built a process that makes sure those leftovers still have value.
Instead of sending mixed materials straight to the landfill — the industry norm — we:
Cleanly sort materials into proper recycling streams→ keeping your projects out of landfills
Lower ink waste→ lowering the total environmental load tied to your brand
Ensure consistent processes→ giving you peace of mind that your graphics are handled responsibly from start to finish, making it easier for your team to report sustainable choices to clients.
It’s the unglamorous side of sustainability. It takes extra time and attention, and a knowing that the small steps matter. When the system is built for it, those small steps add up to meaningful impact.
Better By Design
Sustainability in the tradeshow and events industry isn’t solved by a single material or program. It’s the result of intentional decisions made across every stage of production.
We've spent years developing processes that reduce waste at the source, extend material lifecycles, and create genuine environmental value. Not because it's trendy, but because it's responsible business.
Renewable Energy That Powers Better Print
Our Utah facility operates on a 250 kW-DC solar system that offsets up to 85% of energy use, supported by a net-metering partnership with the City of St. George.
How This Benefits YOU
Stable Pricing
Operational savings flow downstream — without added cost to you.
