St. George Marathon Finish Line Arch Project

In the world of sports events, there are moments that exceed the boundaries of athleticism and become lasting memories etched in the hearts of participants and spectators alike. The St. George Marathon Finish Line Arch stands as a testament to the power of such moments. At Design To Print, we had the privilege of bringing this iconic structure to life. In this case study, we will take you through the journey from start-to-finish to building this important landmark for Southern Utah racers, supporters, and volunteers.

Building the Custom Structure

Part 1: Setting the Stage

The journey began with the creation of the massive arch, towering at almost 13 feet tall and 46 feet wide! What made this arch truly impressive, was the use of our patent-pending aluminum extrusions, allowing us to produce a foundation for the graphics that gives the structure both form and function. The extrusions being used for the arch is what set the stage for this structure to last for many events to come.

We are fortunate to have an incredible group of dreamers and builders who are passionate about their craft and helping our clients bring their visions to life. Our on-site metal shop complete with CAD engineering is what sets us apart from other printing and graphics companies. With a team of experienced welders and fabricators, we prioritize craftsmanship in all our custom projects.

Part 2: Silicone Edge Graphics (SEG)

With the arch structure complete, we turned our attention to the graphics that would be fitted into the aluminum extrusions. To ensure the event organizers could maintain a fresh look while retaining the same arch structure for each race, we opted for Silicone Edge Graphics (SEG). Commonly used in retail and tradeshow industries, these graphics are designed to be easily interchangeable.

Our process involved meticulously test-fitting the SEGs to ensure they seamlessly fit onto the arch structure, guaranteeing a smooth and hassle-free installation for our client.

The arch then received its finishing touches, including a powder coating that would make it truly shine. With each step, it became more than just a structure; it became a symbol of excellence and dedication.

The Grand Finale

The culmination of these efforts was nothing short of extraordinary. As the finished arch was revealed at the St. George Marathon, it stood as a testament to the difference that finishing touches can make. The powder coating and perfectly fitted graphics transformed the arch into a work of art that made an impact on the overall aesthetic.

Conclusion

The St. George Marathon is a momentous occasion, and we were honored to be a part of it. We recognize the dedication and perseverance of the athletes as they crossed the finish line under this arch. Congratulations to all the athletes who participated!
